If someone says to you, "what are you doing about students' use of AI?" ask them, "do you think that this should be my problem? How good do you think my response can be? Should it not be up to legislators & administrators to defend against a commercial industry's attack on your child's education?"

And it really emphasises how our media just cannot be normal about trans people.

Constant descriptions of Dr. Upton not as a trans woman, but as "a man etc," it's a warped definition of impartiality where acknowledgement of transness at all is "taking a side."

Think they're burdens rather than covenants but I don't know enough about the law to know the difference.

I'm sure you're very proud of yourselves in the journalism space though, eh? Off you went to learn the trade, bright eyed and idealistic about speaking truth to power, and here you all are just doing The Gay Agenda Is Out To Get Everyone again but subbing in trans people as the target. Mortifying.

That's not a compromise. There is no compromise position lurking somewhere between "treat trans people as full and equal members of society" and "treat trans people as second-class citizens". Labour have chosen the latter option.

I found it super interesting to hear from people who aren't doing #EMCA already about what they took away from the workshop.

Glad a few people stuck around after for the DN meeting - good to break the silo and hear why other researchers might use MCA (and where they struggle to see the relevance!)

I would rather have a world where we all trust each other and accept that a few people will take advantage of it than a world where folks have to perform disability constantly in order to get the help they need. Let kids have an extra 30 minutes on the test, jesus fucking christ

26 years into devolution and still hardly a single shit could be given about the governments responsible for e.g. the NHS or income tax rates for nearly 9 million people! This is infuriating! Every single day a new fucking Westminster poll and fuck all for Holyrood or the Senedd! Maddening!

universities got a tiny fee rise that was immediately wiped out by the national insurance raises. they used international student fees to subsidise capped domestic fees and now that’s going to be taken away too. universities are going to collapse and thousands of jobs will go with each collapse.
