You ever messed up a portrait so badly, you considered faking your own death?

Guy contacted me recently about a commission, and asked if I was any good at painting men with beards.

Am I any good...

Dude...please.....

...clearly fucking no.

Did I show you my "Gnome in your home"?

Help - I keep buying ornaments that look depressed.

Anyone who's seen the classic "Whistle and I'll come to you" starring Michel Hordern, will know why whenever I see a bone on a beach, I have this overwhelming impulse to blow it.

Every time I see a strange bone on a coastal holiday, I think - I bet I could get a tune out of that.

When you decide to go for a nice relaxing walk along the beach, and suddenly it all goes a bit M.R. James...

Work-in-progress. I have no idea what it's going to be at this stage.

With Christmas coming up (eventually), if you have a pet and would like to treat them to a portrait, like Princess here, hit me up.

A new prop for my night terrors.

For just £1, I purchased a fruity dog from the market, and the dog's not sure about it.
September 21, 2025 at 1:22 PM
As always, if you have a pet and would like to commission a painting of them, please keep me in mind.

What I lack in talent, I more than make up in affordability.
September 12, 2025 at 9:45 AM
Because nobody succeeded in stopping me this past week, I have been painting again.
September 12, 2025 at 9:38 AM
Show me a more exciting postcard.

I'll wait.

Look what I found at the market for 50p.

Straight into my collection of lake monsters.

Couple of quick sketches of a dog and a man outside Waitrose.

People love it when I sketch them.

"I've always been very moved by the movements of the mouth and the shape of the mouth and the teeth...

...I've always hoped in a sense to be able to paint the mouth like Monet painted the sunset.

....And I've always wanted and never succeeded in painting the smile."

- Francis Bacon

I know I'll never be able to capture a perfect likeness of my subject, nor even a reasonable one, I'm not good enough for that.

My main focus, my desire if you will, is to make the type of painting that someone would walk across a room for.

If only to move away from it.
August 8, 2025 at 8:05 AM
Have I mentioned how much I love painting dogs lately?
August 7, 2025 at 9:37 AM
I can also paint human portraits, if any of you are looking for a gift, or are in a long-term relationship and looking to get out of it.
August 6, 2025 at 2:32 PM
I will undercut any (reputable) pet portrait artist alive, (or dead).

Toymaker: You've seen a T-Rex, right?

Sculptor: Technically, my dude, nobody's seen a T-Rex *takes a drag on cigarette*
