Depending on your location, the anesthesiologist might create your care plan & meet with you before your scope or other procedure, or surgery. But in the room with you during the entirety of your case? That’s a nurse anesthetist: 1 anesthesiologist can supervise up to 4 cases/rooms at same time.

DNP includes most programs for CRNAs—certified registered nurse anesthetists. In many states (yes, the rural ones like mine who vote red), an anesthesiologist is absolutely not administering your anesthesia, giving you pain meds, monitoring awareness and respirations and blood volume. It’s a CRNA.

I’ve long thought that women in particular are born with all the fucks we have to give. And when they’re gone, they’re gone. Like a fuckopause. Some people run out sooner than others.
