Fantastic performance at the Bornemann Theater by the Shakespearean virtuosos of the Old Globe Theater. It was beyond special to be in the round and participate as citizens of Rome in this timeless play. The last question of the TalkBack session with the actors came from a teacher: Was Brutus right?

This is one of the best conferences I've attended, but I can't go this year 😭

So glad there's an online option (and it's very affordable)

Can't stress enough that posts like the one below aren't coming from random, alarmist bozos. Like this one is from Dr. Kevin Elliott, a political scientist at Yale University specializing in democracy, ethics and institutions.
People keep saying "it's gonna be a long four years," and I keep saying: this cannot go on for even a small portion of that.

People will die, government will crumble, America will go to war, and our democratic republic will be dead, buried, and rotted out top to bottom. He *must* be removed ASAP
I don't think you can look at what is brewing in Washington right now and just assume that the US will still be a functioning geopolitical actor this time next year

NEW - Rep. Mark Alford tells fired KC federal workers ‘God has a plan’ at hostile town hall

Folks, I've been covering politics for a dozen years in Kansas and Missouri and this is probably the most intense, angry town hall I have ever seen

Not a bad idea -- if House Republicans refuse to hold town halls in their congressional districts, local Democrats should set one of their own up.
Every Democrat who lost in a district in 2024 should hold a town hall if those Republicans won't.

Our parks are in chaos. We’ve seen firsthand how Trump’s hiring freeze, the rescinding of hundreds of job offers, and the layoff of 5% of NPS staff have left us overwhelmed and short-handed.
