I complemented a friend on the beautiful oven spring on her country sourdough. She asked me what oven spring was. I said “when the bread opens up around your score.” She asked what “bad” oven spring looks like. Here you go.

I got a little too enthusiastic brushing the flour off before brushing with water and sprinkling the seeds on. The whole thing deflated before my eyes. Should have given up and just made focaccia 😳. Also forgot the salt and it tasted like crap 😵💫.
