To preserve our humanity, I think it's important to be offline more. The truth is we can get all the news we need in one or two sittings a day, and then decide what to do about it, one day at a time. Platforms like this one can be helpful, but like everything else in life, dosage matters!

In terms of strategy, there are things we should emulate (discipline, repetition, presence in nonpolitical spaces) and things we should not (lying, demonization, division).

In terms of substance, for me it always comes back to freedom, security, and democracy.

Also, please run for president. We need your brain, your judgment, your temperament, your insistence on substance, your integrity, and your ability to tell a story in a way that makes people listen.

Are Dems looking at the psychology of undue influence / brainwashing to understand the MAGA movement and develop psychologically effective strategies for getting through to people?

*Not* talking about calling it brainwashing, which will shut people down. Talking about understanding the psychology.

Yet, for some reason, Trump is never in a hurry to pull the same stunts on Putin or Xi.

And that’s the real problem for the free world: Putin fully exploits Trump’s childish need to score an easy “win” at Ukraine’s expense. Millions of people may pay a terrible price for it.

Yes! Please let’s make America smart again.
