Star Trek: The Next Generation is my favorite ST. I was 7 years old when it aired, and I remember mixed feelings as the season progressed. Mistakes were made, but characters were fleshed out and important details outlined. I do not recommend season 1 unless you're committed to the full picture.

SNAP is ONLY for unprepared human food items. No hygiene products, cleaning products, or pet food. I've seen restaurants offer free pasta meals to recipients, but poor people don't need more pasta. They don't want your expired crap either. I saw this "offer" in a local bn group. Don't do this.

Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock is a fun, entertaining departure from previous TOS films. It begins when Kirk takes McCoy and crew to steal the Enterprise in order to unite Spock's katra with his body on Vulcan at Sarek's insistence. Pacing has improved with this iteration.

Dagnar has a sense for when I'm about to get up and do something productive, and at that moment will hop into my lap and start purring. He successfully redirects my energy to scritches and pets. What I was originally going to do will have to be remembered later.

Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan disapponted. It was better than The Motion Picture, they got going faster and there's some interesting battle strategy among tense conflicts. A spinoff of TOS episode "Space Seed," the crew accidentally stumbles into Khan and his followers after several brutal years.

Next was the first OS film, Star Trek: The Motion Picture. We putter through nostalgia and Kirk's boring midlife as he clashes with his younger colleague Decker. We get a gnarly transporter malfunction! McCoy's leisure suit is insane, but takes forever to assemble the crew and get underway.

After TOS in the Star Trek timeline watch is the animated series. This show is exponentially better than TOS! Because it's a cartoon they made Kirk way less pervy and almost zero alien damsels. Checkov wasn't a favorite, but his absence was weird. Arex and M'Ress were cool though!

Kirk is basically a good captain, but is easily swayed by good looking ladies. He's such a slut and I'd rather work for Archer than maybe have to serve drinks on the bridge. His unbreakable bonds of friendship with the other crew members elevate his character to proper heroic levels.
