Games talk. Whatever comes to mind expressed to a potentially nonexistant audience.

It would seem that the internet has misunderstood my previous statements on the matter, so please allow me to be crystal clear: there are no ancient curses present in our games. [thread]

A completely totally unexpected spread of most played games

It's always frustrating being so aware of how people view older games with such rose tinted glasses even though they are very flawed

Only I'M allowed to have objectively correct rose tinted glasses towards games

Just your average Dwarf Fortress patch notes
Posted Dwarf Fortress 53.06. New song 'Nabidas'! The freeze/lag associated to rams should be fixed, and rams are more active. Various graphics. Your adventure mode party members no longer develop an instinctual need to hunt and kill other party members whenever you are ambushed by a wild animal.

My obligatory hot take on the Game Awards is that it nor any other awards matter and everyone should ideally be able to form their own opinions on what games they like without the influence of any awards or content creators

There's tons of games ignored by the Keighley Crew, so go out and find some

The fact that the Gabecube is finally real is very funny to me, but I'm more interested in that controller.

If it's just a Steam Deck with the screen chopped off in the middle and is moderately comfortable, I'm all in

Who knew the Doritos and Mountain Dew man was more preoccupied with advertising and celebrities rather than actually supporting the gaming industry.

It sucks that he is now responsible for 90% of the gaming announcement event sphere.

Remember to boycott your local Geoff Keighley

It's also the 7th anniversary of the only good competitive card game: Gwent, the standalone one

And soon-to-be 9th anniversary since Closed Beta started on October 25th, 2016

The only game whose community I got involved with (and probably ever will) and met some nice folks along the way
By decree of Queen Meve of Lyria and Rivia we celebrate today the 7th anniversary of her victorious campaign to regain control over her domain. Huzzah! 🎉

To celebrate, we're working on a patch that will restore Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales to Android and iOS. We'll share more details later.

A lot of game companies genuinely underestimate the importance of community moderation, or they start well moderated then fall to the side over time as a community grows, and then over time the games become known for having toxic communities and nobody tries to rehabilitate that.
I feel like the thing I always find myself thinking when ppl are talking about "oh the gaming audience is awful" is that, like... i'm not sure i believe that so much as I believe that any unmoderated space will inevitably surface the most toxic people (who drive away more-reasonable ones)

Spent about an hour and a half with the demo this evening. It's such a fascinating game, a mix of HoMM 3 and 5 with new things sprinkled in.

All the things you expect to work, whether mechanics or hotkeys, just do the way they always have.

Only issue is the UI, can sometimes be a bit unclear.
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era just released a demo! 🏹

The official Early Access release date has been moved to 2026. But you don't have to wait any longer to get your first look at the next installment of this epic strategy series.

EA's gonna be tapping into the rosebud;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;! reserves with this one
It’s official: EA is going private.

The leveraged buyout will be financed by a staggering $20 billion of debt, which likely means some *aggressive* cost cutting is ahead for EA in the coming months and years.

My current opinion on Silksong can be pretty much summarized as such:

Fighting bosses and learning patterns: Fun
Having to spend increasingly long amounts of time running back to the bosses: Not fun
Being extra punished for being bad at platforming in the lead up to said bosses: Also not fun
September 7, 2025 at 7:48 AM
Find yourself someone who loves you as much as Silksong loves throwing out that 2hp damage starting from early game

I think I've found my groove after struggling with that one temple boss, but geez stuff hits hard fast
Silksong is much harder than Hollow Knight (which was already pretty tough!). I wonder how many people will bounce off a certain boss in front of a door with bells

Got up to the endgame of the new Path of Exile 2 update and I think Act 4 might be my favourite, mostly because LORE and some of the areas are nice and bright and pretty and not covered in dirt and darkness

King of Dragon Pass and Six Ages are some of my favourite narrative games (and really underrated), and I'm sure this will be no exception.

Really looking forward to seeing how the more "narrow" scope (i.e. focus on a party vs a tribe) will impact the storytelling aspects of it all

Having finished Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, I think I can safely say it's probably going to be my GOTY. (I also generally don't play new games)

I have some minor QoL gripes and pacing issues in the lategame, but it's been a looooong time since a story/setting occupied my brainspace so much.
May 18, 2025 at 8:20 PM
I think what Astro Bot and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 show us is that there need to be more French-directed games that borrow Mario mechanics.

I ended up getting back to Tactical Breach Wizards and finishing it up and all achievements! That one final level achievement was a bit annoying!

Game's still a 10/10 for me though, I need more. And just more wizard content in general.

Amazing job @pentadact.com and team!
Also, I should get back to Tactical Breach Wizards. Was having a blast with that until PoE2 consumed all my game time.
