Again, the World Health Organization is the single most important global entity in preventing, tracking and controlling outbreaks, epidemics and pandemics and is especially important as climate change and deforestation allow pathogens to mutate, become more infectious and spread to new regions

H5N1 bird flu could be ‘one pig away’ from ‘a big threat’ pathologists say in the Iowa Capital Dispatch.

Pigs can carry both bird and human influenza viruses which creates a “mixing pot” that can lead to the creation of new viruses.

The flu virus fucks...

By which I mean, if two different strains of flu are present in a single animal, they can both infect one cell and when they repackage themselves, the result is a bunch of virus particles with shared elements from each viral genome.

Could mystery disease in DRC be caused by more than just Malaria?
We know it is a respiratory illness (flu like symptoms, airborne spread),and patients die of respiratory failure.
Malaria does not spread this way, does not kill this way.
28% of patients are FluA POSITIVE.
What do we not know?🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
