Book 64: Loose Kanin by Kia Leep. Glass Kanin #2. Forgot to post this on release. Like tempered glass, this story strengthens the series' themes, characters, and worldbuilding.

(Did you like my glass pun?)

Kanin is a delightful mess of an MC, and I love seeing him fumble through this world.

Book 63: Shadows of Mallin by AvaritaBona. Draka #1. Woman turns into a dragon and grows her hoard.
Is the real hoard the friends we made along the way?
No.
But there's some friends, too.
This is a fun one. Less silly than I made it sound, but not without humor.

Book 62: Stuff and Nonsense by Andrew Seiple. Threadbare #1. While I like Threadbare's growth, I find this series to be a bit (and pardon the pun) overstuffed. If you really dig LitRPG elements, this might be for you, but I prefer a lighter touch and a more focused structure.

Book 61: Journey to the Dragon Mountain by Erin Hunter. Bamboo Kingdom #3. A mid-season finale I didn't expect. But still fun.

Book 60: A Language of Dragons by S.F. Williamson. A pretty great YA fantasy about language and dragons. Which... I probably didn't have to say, considering the title. But it's also about defiance and propaganda and all that good stuff.

Book 59: River of Secrets by Erin Hunter. Bamboo Kingdom #2. I'm enjoying this series more than I thought I would. Especially Ghost. I love Ghost. Everyone should love Ghost. My stupid, precious boy <3

Book 58: Path of Fate by Diana Pharaoh Francis. Path #1. A random bookstore pick that turned out to be surprisingly solid. Reminds me of Paksenarrion and early Tamara Pierce. Nostalgic.

Of course, it's no surprise I like a book about bonding with magical animals.

Book 57: Creatures of the Flood by Erin Hunter. Bamboo Kingdom #1. I like the characters, but I feel like I spent 70% of the book waiting for the story to actually start.

Book 56: The Elders by Inbali Iserles. Foxcraft #2. I'm on a bad streak of horrible things happening to all my favorite characters...

Book 55: Lucky Duck by Chris Kurtz. Child Bullying Simulator: Bird Edition.

You like the Ugly Duckling? We've got the Ugly Duckling.

It's fine.

Book 54: The Taken by Inbali Iserles. Foxcraft #1. A delightful story about foxes. I like the subtle magic system that emphasizes the fox's trickster nature.

Book 53: The Mirrorwood by Deva Fagan. I love a good book that dwells within the discussion of fairytales. It's got fun characters (especially Moth), gods with their own agendas, and a colorful world. I'd recommend it for fans of Catherynne M. Valente's Fairyland series.

Book 52: Gathering Moss by Robin Wall Kimmerer. While less cohesive and expertly crafted as Braiding Sweetgrass, it's still well worth the read.

Especially if you like moss.

I know so much more about moss than I used to.
