We’ve wrapped on the final day of #BCON24! And the talk Philip McCloskey and I gave on Making Better Motion Branding is already on YouTube. It’s been a pleasure to be back in Amsterdam, and an honor to contribute as a speaker again.❤️

Uh-oh. Looks like it’s been a while since I last used this camera pack. 😳

I always seem to work late. There's always more to improve, more to create, more to explore! So over the past sixteen years of working at Vectorform, I’ve frequently been the last one in the office.

I always used my goat herding voice to check if anyone was left before turning off the lights…

I needed a spacer to install a rear shelf on a display with recessed vesa mount…but I measured while it was mounted and couldn’t see the standoffs within the recess. 🤦‍♂️

Gave up on my beautiful chonker, and I’m making a new set that should interface better with the shelf…and print faster. 😅

Unity 3D volume field plugins and Blender template project are posted! VF Point Array (to create the cubic grid for capturing vector data) and VF Delivery (to output the .vf binary file format) are ready for early-access testing, so to speak. Check GitHub for the downloads and documentation.

After briefly baffling myself at how completely I'd messed up the Y/Z-up conversions for importing, generating, and exporting, I finally have a working pipeline! I can import Unity .vf (volume field) files, modify or create new volumes in Blender, and export to Unity for use in particle animations.

Just walked back from the theatre after watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

Story was good.
Music was good.
Cast was good.
Animation and artwork was fantastic.

I will say that I’d absolutely pay a monthly fee to support a social media site that I didn’t feel was *entirely* evil, and that let me control my experience a lot.

The question is if enough people feel the way I do, of course.

What is a protocol? How does decentralization work? And can you talk to me in non-tech speak? You asked and we answered: https://blueskyweb.xyz/blog/6-13-2023-what-is-bluesky

If you don't read paragraphs and only consume content in post form. I've summarized below:

Free Blender3D plugin! VF Copy Paste Geometry adds cut/copy/paste for meshes and curves in edit mode with persistent local clipboard data blocks, operating in object space on the current active object even when multiple items are selected. https://github.com/jeinselenVF/VF-BlenderCopyPasteGeometry

New update for Blender Autosave Render + Output Variables!

{material} returns the current active material slot of the current active object. The use case is pretty niche, but I happened to need it this week. 😄

How does Blender 3D not have copy/paste in edit mode?! I guess it's time to fix that. I already have meshes, curves, and NURB surfaces mostly working, but it probably needs a bit more testing before I post the GitHub link. 😄
