Not defending the dataviz, but "Singin' In The Rain", "Sunset Boulevard", "Adaptation", "Ed Wood", "Living In Oblivion", "Tropic Thunder", "Get Shorty", and Felini's "8 1/2" would all like a word with you.

Interesting visualization, but I have a couple issues with it.
1. Labels below each graph where they're right next to the data they represent would make it easier to tell which state was which.
2. This makes it seem like DC has higher rates than New Mexico, but NM is what is called out at the top.

I would expect to see this kind of visualization accompanied with a table with the actual values. This is probably more to give a general sense of relative values, or identify trends or relationships due to proximity that might only be obvious when seen in a geographic context.

I don't have a name for it, but it's maddening.
