Republicans firing Veterans and cutting VA benefits is not a winning strategy for 2026.
The nation's leading veterans advocacy groups condemned the recent purge of employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs and called on President Donald Trump's administration to reinstate an estimated 6,000 veterans fired across the federal government.

Even your average Republicans are not on board with cuts to medicaid, Social Security and VA Benefits. Many Republicans depend on those services!
If they truly believed they were saving America they'd be celebrating in the streets, not canceling town halls and hiding from their constituents.

The Social Security Administration will be destroyed releasing that many federal employees.
BREAKING: Two sources tell @theprospect.bsky.social that the acting commissioner of the Social Security Administration has asked for a plan for cuts to 50% of the workforce, including at the 1,200 field offices that serve millions of beneficiaries.

Rep. Suozzi: 26% of the federal workforce are veterans—26%. What about their service to this country? We encouraged them to apply for these jobs, and now we’re just taking away their livelihoods? It’s not just chaotic, it’s not just cruel—it’s unconstitutional.

Veterans who spent years serving our country should not be fired as federal employees just because they have been working for less than a year. Really shouldn't be a Democrat or Republican issue.
At least 2,400 VA employees have been FIRED in the last 2 weeks. Many are VETERANS with YEARS of federal service and EXEMPLARY performance records. Today, VA's Chief Human Capital Officer REFUSED to answer @repmarktakano.bsky.social's questions about her role in these ILLEGAL MASS FIRINGS.

Veterans and their families will remember in 2026 how Republicans in Congress treated them! Cutting VA services and jobs is not going to keep or attract new voters.
The Department of Veterans Affairs has terminated over 1,400 employees.

Call it the Musk-Trump Veteran Firing Program.

Nearly a third of the federal workers are veterans, and the figure is much higher at DoD. Musk and Trump are going to fire tens of thousands of American veterans, on top of the thousands they already fired.

“Thank you for your service, you’re fired.”

The Pentagon announced that it plans to ultimately fire five to eight percent of the military’s approximately 950,000 civilian employees, with an initial tranche of 5,400 probationary workers who don’t have “mission-critical” roles expected to be terminated next week.

Moderate Republicans, Independents, and Democrats do not want social security, medicaid, and medicare cut or being fearful of their safety because tens of thousands of federal employees have been fired. Regardless of who you voted for in 2024, we need everyone in 2026!

Judge Tanya Chutkan has to see they are gaslighting her.
DOJ won't answer a federal judge's questions today about how many federal employees were fired last week or how many might be in the coming weeks—and submits a sworn declaration making a claim the judge found doubtful:

That Elon Musk "has no actual or formal authority to make government decisions."

There is no chance that the majority of federal employees at airports are not fearful that they will check their email and see they no longer have a job. This has a major impact on anyone ability to focus, let alone those with such a stressful position.
“The Trump administration has begun firing hundreds of employees at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), including some who maintain critical air traffic control infrastructure, despite four deadly crashes since inauguration day.”
