I'm pleased to announce that my new book, "The Pardon: The Politics of Presidential Mercy," is now available for pre-order. It will be published in February 2025. It's feeling kind of topical, I think.

Decades from now, when people recall the Trump presidency, I hope they will think about the time he threatened Democratic lawmakers with execution for urging compliance with the laws of war.

When they're right, they're right. The filibuster is a terrible, anti-democratic (and usually anti-Democratic) institution, and it should be abolished.

The House Oversight report is wildly overstated. The pardons can’t be overturned, and no one in the White House committed a crime. But the picture of the Biden White House is not an attractive one, as I discussed with Anderson Cooper on CNN.

This is a terrific book. I was slow in getting to it, but the wait was well worth it. Read it.

Big fan, Chris. Ignore the haters.
I am not perfect; I get bent out of shape at times. But I am constantly trying—and just trying to get through this all, like everyone else.

If my placing limits on my engagement makes me an asshole in your mind, that's none of my business.

But that doesn't mean I'll keep you around to demean me.
