If she's happier in Ireland (and with a name like O'Donnell why wouldn't she be), then God bless her. I might suggest that her happiness shouldn't be tied to politicians, even ones that make asses of themselves by personally insulting her. Life is far deeper than that. But I'm glad she's happy.

I don't think that the Solicitor General said this. The Chief Justice said it. His questions to Sauer centered on whether the tariffs were revenue generating taxes. The Solicitor General argued that they were not.

Such a good actor, he was great in that film.

Any story discussing a "new study" or which has "could," "may," or "possible" in its headline is worthless. That's not how actual science is done, written, or discussed.

We moved to a new school district in 1971 when I was 8 and I remember my dad singing our new phone number to me in the car on the way there. I still remember the song and the number.

I agree with you about Kirk. But we did indeed lower the flags to half staff for Dr. King by proclamation of President Johnson: www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/pr...

Most city school districts have been closing neighborhood schools for years because so many were built 100 years ago, and are consolidating them into one large campus. This puts most children too far from the school to walk. But all these schools offer free bus transportation. They should use it.

I wish I felt more convinced. That was a 5-4 decision with the Chief Justice joining Breyer, Sotomayor, Kagan and Ginsburg. Those days are over.

What a profoundly stupid idea. The whole point of publishing in journals such as The Lancet is to subject the studies to peer review.

Funny thing is, I first visited The Mall about 50 years ago when I was a teen. At the time I'd never heard of the Mall in the UK, and I really did wonder why this beautiful park was named like a shopping center.

Did they change the lighting in that room? It's dark now, with strong shadows cast downward. Every picture I'd seen in the past showed a bright room in every direction.

Thanks. It sounds like a shorter A than we use in that word. I learned something new today.

TBH I've never heard someone from the UK pronounce either word. I'm curious to hear the difference there.

We pronounce it exactly the same way as the shopping center. It rhymes with "all" or "haul".
