I am glad to join everyone over here where skies are hopefully bluer. I am a Professor of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering at University of New Hampshire. Currently I am Chair of the Faculty Senate at UNH.
This is the first paper I have any new student, UG or Grad. I encourage you to make time to read this if you haven't yet. The author discusses why students (or researchers) feel more "stupid" the longer they investigate a problem with a beautiful personal story.

Meeting with a visitor on campus yesterday reminded me of something important. Within academia, it is important to remember that actions and decisions should have a goal in mind. And it could be important to share that goal.
