In the spirit of this place and positivity, I am going to start a post that includes some random Petco Park scoreboard fun facts from over the years.

Not everyone will like them, but even if just one person gets a laugh out of it or brightens their mood, well, that’s sort of the point. Enjoy.

Analytics have their place but forgoing a go-ahead field goal against a meh team with under 2 minutes left is “tariffs are great”-level stupidity

This is unbelievable in the sense that I do not believe it.

The Detroit Pistons down their entire starting lineup, and they are about to win again. Ninth in a row.

Okay, I did manage to get this blog post out before the (4pm PT!) livestream! 👀 There will be a considerable flood threat this weekend in some parts of SoCal as near-record moist airmass combines with other factors. Strong t-storms also possible. #CAwx
Southern California weekend storm looking increasingly powerful, with growing flood threat for LA Basin & beyond - Weather West
Quite some whiplash: from record heat to record wet (and yet one more damaging wildfire before that happens) Well, the weather this year sure is doing its best to keep us on our toes! The last 2-3 weeks featured record (or near-record) warmth across most of California and Nevada, as well as a good portion

Leaving Levi’s Stadium continues to be the worst experience at any sporting event in the history of ever

It is approximately one billion degrees here on this side of the stadium. Add me to the list of people who think they didn’t think this thing thru.

Finding the Aztecs 🏈 game tonight while trying to watch in San Jose may end up being more difficult than returning a ring to the fires of Mordor, but I’m willing to try

The Broncos just snapped it with 9 seconds left on the play clock and with a running game clock 🙃

Hearing that former Padres manager and Twins bench coach Jayce Tingler has agreed to join Tony Vitello's staff in San Francisco. Tingler and Vitello were college teammates at Missouri and have remained close friends, so this is a very predictable outcome.

Future HOF manager Bruce Bochy tells me he's content with taking the uniform off and rejoining the Giants in an advisory role. It took just 90 minutes at a Nashville restaurant with Tony Vitello to convince Bochy that Buster Posey made a smart hire to manage. www.nytimes.com/athletic/678...

Bochy, who won three of his four World Series titles managing the Giants, will be back in San Francisco, where he managed for 13 seasons.

Ducks grabbed an empty netter for a fifth goal but there was no 5-quack PA. Gg Ducks (and great turnout by Detroit fans).
Just had a “quack, quack, quack, quack.” I can’t.
In the span of less than five minutes, the Dodgers won in the most dumb of ways, the Wings had a wide open goal overturned by kicking, and the Ducks subsequently made their announcer say “Quack, quack, quack.” I am not ok.

Quack quack after the second goal? Oh no.

Just do not understand how he doesn’t get the Bonds treatment. 2025 Mookie Betts is not pre-2025 Betts, WADR.
