This is important as we think about designing nudges, especially in the electronic health record.

For example, in an alert to not prescribe opioids for low back pain, physicians were more likely to pick an alternative if at least 2 non-opioid alternatives were offered.

We found that offering physicians MORE alternatives encouraged them to select one of the alternates.

A colleague just heard that two NIH grant proposals -- totally aligned with addressing chronic disease -- one with a 4th percentile and one with a 1st percentile score, will likely not be funded.

This does not seem like "radical transparency."

So, government scientists perhaps shouldn't be publishing in certain journals...in which the FDA Commissioner and FDA Director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) published last week.

The same Commissioner who co-authored a May 20 @nejm.org article listing pregnancy as a high-risk condition for COVID.
