The reactionary crowd needs to chill. Duran hadn’t pitched since Sunday and it wasn’t like a seven run lead, it was four runs. It’s fine he got work in this situation. It was a freak line drive off his ankle. It could have happened anytime. There is zero reason to be mad at Topper about this.

NBC Sports Philly is currently playing a Phillies game from June 14, 2014 and looking back at do not think there is anything of significance to that game unless I’m missing something

Maybe if they just signed Hoffman or Estevez instead of getting cute with Romano, they might have avoided paying a premium. But maybe they also go down this road anyway with the unknown of the Alvarado suspension, we never are truly going to know

Love the Gage Wood pick. Thought he wouldn’t be there because of the helium from the postseason but just an electric fastball and very good curveball. Needs that good third pitch to jump to another level but his stuff and mentality are all there

Yea Wrigley is cool

Heading to Wrigley for the first time today on a quick mini-ballpark tour in the Midwest. Pulled out this classic that hasn’t fit me in awhile

Legit don’t care about the bullpen problems because they were thin in that area to begin with before it got thinner. The problem is if they have a thin bullpen, the offense needs to execute more than this team has (seemingly) when they have big opportunities to avoid this issue during this slide

Unreal MLB debut from Abel. Ties a franchise record and goes toe-to-toe with Paul Skenes.

I know it’s the Pirates, but the first two innings for Abel got me feeling

Nola has made 32 starts every year for the last 6 full MLB seasons (not including 2020). He has not been good and he maybe hurt (surprisingly not his arm/shoulder). He definitely needed a break to heal and fix the issues that have plagued him this season
Aaron Nola is going onto the IL (ankle sprain). Mick Abel will make his MLB debut on Sunday vs. Paul Skenes.

Taijuan Walker will rejoin rotation next week in Colorado.

Abel will make one start then return to Triple-A. Walker will take Nola’s spot until he returns.

3-0 this year at the Bank. Two misty games and a super charged wind game. Could use a nice weather for once lol

I’m tired of Bryce running into outs he shouldn’t be running into. Like that’s not the fly ball 1st to 2nd situation to go on

It is still early, but between the reports, the spring breakout game and the first week of his low A career, it is very hard not to really take notice of Aroon
Already leading the Florida State League in batting average and RBIs, Aroon Escobar adds a double and two RBIs to those totals in the first inning for Clearwater … Escobar turned on this 95 mph fastball to the tune of 108.5 mph and 381 feet to give the Threshers a 2-0 lead

Tait is so strong

Painter threw 24 pitches, 15 fastballs averaging 98.7 mph, three at 100+. Cutter and slider weren’t super crisp, sort of felt like he overthrew a bit
Lol Andrew Painter just threw 100.2 mph

With the bullpen depth this thin, I am a bit worried about how much usage their top guys are getting right now with all these close games.
April 10, 2025 at 2:29 AM
I don’t know what you do with Bohm other than drop him in the lineup and ride it out. It isn’t like their other options are super appealing either

Jarred Kelenic has been on base three times tonight, continuing his trend of being very good against the Phils and not so much vs everybody else

Ok sure, Edmundo can play the outfield

That was a good first game of 2025 to go. Birthday dubs

Romano can’t be throwing 93-94 if he’s going to be used in high leverage. And Topper probably should be using him to face Ohtani/Betts

It is 2025. I’m still trying to figure out the choice of the Royals TV broadcast going with what sounds like a radio quality booth for TV. It’s cool but I’ve always been curious of this
