So on the 1st February the deeply flawed & frankly crap alcohol excise system comes into force. Just to be clear it’s such a bad government policy that the UK excise system will be defrauded daily. Moreover HMRC and the minsters know this and don’t care. Tory policy delivered by a Labour government.

This week I have not only doing my actual job of bringing our wines to market but have also tried very hard to point out the major flaws in HMRC’s new wine excise laws which if they go ahead the UK state is likely to be defrauded by wine producers the world over. Here is how, why. It’s not pretty.
