I really find it very depressing when these facilities get left out to rot after the events. I just feel like they could've turned this into something that would be accessible to the public after the events. In that case they wouldn't have just wasted their money into these projects.

Due to the rise of absurd ticket prices, the FIBA World Cup in 2023 did not sold out arenas as how FIBA would've wanted. Despite the Gilas Pilipinas team being the host country team, they weren't able to fill seats up. Most people/fans watched on the TV instead.

Yeah that is the biggest downside of sports moving to streaming, it limits the accessibility to those who still watches on cable and some streaming services charge too much.

Recently, the movement of sports transitioning to a streaming service has risen. This is due to much bigger deals and mainly the downfall of cable tv. The big plus I see in this is the elimination of the PPV model. It's also more accessible with the current gen of tech.

In April of 2018, Conor McGregor and his team attacked the bus that was carrying Khabib, his team, and other fighters that were scheduled on the card. This led to several fighters getting injured and forced to pull out of their fights. McGregor was then charged with assault and criminal mischief.

It all came apart in April of 2015 when he was involved in a hit-and-run accident. This led to him getting stripped of his Light-Heavyweight title and was suspended indefinitely. A year after his incident he returned to competition, but months later he tested positive for two banned substances.

This also almost jeopardized the whole card, I believe the UFC had to reshuffle 3 fights because of Khamzat missing the weight. The 6 fighters involved including him did not end up facing who they were trained to fight.
