We had base in Helensburgh very near to Hill House from 1974-1986, so visited often, when on leave. Had a trip back in 2022. It’s still drying out under cover.

Remembering my mum, Jean (1903-1976), who died suddenly 49 years ago #OTD in Alexandria. We lived abroad and flew home, as funerals were held in a few days back then. We rushed to empty her house before returning to Germany. Her grandchildren were young and don’t have many memories of her.

Thought we’d avoided it all, as it was quiet on 5th but lots of noise just now.

Thanks to the Friends of Crieff Cemetery for the interesting tour of graves with military associations this afternoon. Rain stayed away after the first few minutes.

That’s the (now closed) St Michael’s church. Hope the plaque is saved. She’s also remembered, as is Mary Watson, in St Giles’ Cathedral and on the town war memorial.

Sister Jessie McRobbie died #OTD in 1918 and was buried in Crieff cemetery on Armistice Day, with a service being conducted by Rev Andrew Campbell. His thoughts are below - from his book, ’Crieff in the Great War’. We’ve been unable to find a photo of Jessie.

On Saturday at 2pm the Friends of Crieff Cemetery will be remembering, among others, Sister Mary Watson, who died #OTD in 1918.

No Coffee time ☕️☕️ Crieff, as our favourite coffee shop was closed when we were on the way home from our walk. Did see another rainbow though.
