Walz admin TRIED to END the FoF payments but a court ordered the money continue. Well before feds took action. Criminals & law are the problems. Should have done more & sooner but I see zero evidence of corruption within the admin.

Lugar Nicholai also would be a good legislator.

Fraser is smart, has govt experience, etc. I think she'd be a good legislator. Her 1st point was identity politics & this may not be place to start, imo. We must find ways that people outside our comfort zones join us. This is a tactical criticism.

McGrath did not answer q about FOF fraud well. 1st response should be hearty condemnation of the robbery of taxpayers & poor families,2nd should be 2 or 3 specific prevention steps, 3rd "get govt employees to do govt work" & last, condemn specific ripoffs by big business.

McGrath is sophisticated & well-connected. Couple of the 6 didn't seem to know how govt works, and he surely does. Would rank him, too.

Yes, Quam. Her short tenure in Ca. may be a badge of honor or it may be a problem for her. BCBS just did a re-org that rehomed its corp. control to Delaware. And if she quit because of patient-oriented concerns, hurrah! She has connections galore and is experienced and smart.

Guess who is endorsed by Hilary Clinton? Who was CEO at Blue Cross BS of Ca for 2 months this year? Is hip deep in the U of MN Fairview crisis? Probably doesn't need a cent for the campaign? Would at the moment be 1 of my picks if ranking? But...

correction: "we'll be even further behind."

Leaving aside intra-party disputes, Problem is that the major source of federal $$ is the wasteful, professional-intensive, complicated, multi-tiered, profiteers' greenhouse, the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program. Can't say "no" to LIHTC $18.5M in 2025 otherwise we'd been even further behind.

Saw him again last night. What a handsome fellow! LA should have pitched him I think.

More from Weli in Strib Oct 8

"It is important for the immigrant community to insist that our fellow immigrants embrace honesty in our dealings with each other and with the broader community including our government."

Hurrah for Weli!
