Obviously when we think coup we think tanks in the street and opposition leaders disappeared. That might still happen! But simply ignoring laws you don’t like — here, Congress’s power of the purse — is a less dramatic but more effective way to illegally seize power.
So, for the people saying it's not a coup until the executive is ignoring court orders....

Obviously when we think coup we think tanks in the street and opposition leaders disappeared. That might still happen! But simply ignoring laws you don’t like — here, Congress’s power of the purse — is a less dramatic but more effective way to illegally seize power.
