When an officer began repeatedly punching one sidewalk protester, it turned into chaos. Even the most unexpected began fighting back. A woman in this clip is seen kicking towards an officer after coming to intervene in the violence upon one of the others.

Moments before police became violent, the crowd warned each other that the police were arresting journalists and to get off the bridge road if you didn’t want to also be arrested. Some remained, but many did move. Police still attacked those that cleared away as well as those never blocking.

While some protesters had obstructed the bridge, police also attacked those that were lawfully on the public sidewalks. Over a dozen were arrested, including two journalists. With some facing felony charges. /

Imagine if the headline were, "Trump refuses to show most basic decency" or "Trump continues to ratchet up tensions in wake of assassination" rather than "we hang on Trump's every word."
President Trump said that he had no plans to call Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota after a man assassinated a state lawmaker there and wounded another over the weekend.

"I think the governor of Minnesota is so whacked out, I’m not calling him," Trump told reporters.
