*nyooms right on over* CAT RESCUE!!

Pics, or it never purred!!!

This is Roy, my sister's cat, he's VERY much a ginger, NOT a rescue (though his momma was, iirc), and he still thinks I'm scary (I disciplined him as a kitten) but he INSISTS on getting SOME attention from me anyway.

The irony of these two posts, accidentally juxtaposed on my timeline:

It's abhorrently wrong to shoot a political activist...

(and I don't deny that)

...but children live every single day of their lives in fear of being shot just like this,

yet somehow it's 100% acceptable in politics?

Finally, a perfectly suitable job for modern-day vampires:

Sometimes we just need an image of truth & beauty to pause and admire...

Notice, this does not say "illegal" and it does not say "have to", just "may" do the thing, but...considering the bill to gut public broadcasting made it through the Senate, I thought this might give people a laugh:

A moment of beauty on Canada's Highway 5 yesterday, headed southbound...

(For perspective, my car is pointed downhill at a bit of an angle.)

(And yes, it was still a moment of beauty even in the midst of stop-and-go construction traffic.)

A beautiful picture found on the internet (not mine) for you to admire & enjoy.

A moment of visual beauty to enjoy for a little while:

And yes I know it's not even noon on the West Coast...

Just a lovely little reminder of how not to hurt your own hand when delivering a powerful statement. Shake out your hands for several seconds, then make a snatching grab, compare the resultant shape with the picture, and impact accordingly.

Any other way could fracture the bones in your hand.

Something I did not expect (nor want) to see side by side today:

I may write villains,

But I don't vote for them.

So apparently the muskrat is crying about being ostractized?

Good.

HE broke the social contract with all of us.

HE no longer gets to benefit from it.

Also...those who know, know why. But once more from the top, to make sure nobody breaks their hands:

Shake out your hands several times, snatch them into a fist shape, and use the appropriate impact point.

'Nuff said.

There is no "paradox of tolerance" because it is a social contract that every single human being is entered into from the moment we are born--literally, you would not be alive if people didn't help you at birth.

So if you violate the contract...you don't get to benefit from its protections.

Just a reminder that the Paradox of Tolerance isn't a Paradox!

If you refuse to treat other people with kindness, as if their lives no longer have worth and genuine value...then you yourself AREN'T covered anymore by the social contract that says you should get to enjoy being treated kindly, too.

Here's the image that this is responding to, which some people want to ban simply because of the Not-See imagery...even though it is simply explaining why the fascists are terrible, and not promoting their ideologies in the least.

Why it's not really a Paradox...

Cat tax time!

This is my sister's cat, Roy. He's very much a ginger, so he occasionally needs to go borrow the braincell from the other gingers, but he is also quite athletic. If he were a human, he'd be a Scotsman who practices the caber toss competitively.
