"Who could have predicted this?" say the people who spent the past year dismissing or mocking those who predicted this.

I clearly remember. I can't even believe this is real
Some of us remember drills where we hid under our classroom desks in case the Russians bombed us. Now our President works for Russia.

"To watch him be normalized & celebrated" is absolutely brain-shaving
To watch him be normalized & celebrated. To watch all these people fawn & fold to him BEFORE Day One?

WTF was it all for?
All that shit we did.
All that work.

It’s not the loss that stings. I’ve lost A LOT in my lifetime. It’s what’s coming. What we didn’t stop. I’ll never be over it. Never.

"…people are easily manipulated and the 1% are always with us."
Fascism isn't a new way of thinking. What we have now is vocabulary to justify it and the widespread rejection of everything from science to good manners.

A man who failed a coup is given total control over a military industrial super power while demanding sovereign territory from foreign neighbors based on historical causes while ramping up concentration camps, censoring the press, and business leaders swoon?

Hollywood really is all out of ideas.

2 died of Ebola: They said Obama should resign.

4 died in Benghazi: They had Hillary testify for 11 hours, held 33 hearings, and launched a 4-year probe.

881,776 Covid deaths, an armed insurrection & theft of classified documents: They cheered, and elected Trump as dictator.

If you told me people were lining up to write million dollar checks for the inauguration of a guy who a few short years ago laid siege to the Capitol in an attempted insurrection, I would've said you were crazy.

It turns out I was the crazy one.

exactly this
My first principle for the new year: When it comes to issues involving democracy, I do not seek compromise with Republicans. There is no middle ground between a firefighter and an arsonist.
