One thing that was always interesting to me is that by the time they started McKee against the Giants week 18 with mostly backups, the offense looked quite a bit different Its clear that Jalen has a huge imprint but to your point, why don’t coaches push him out of comfort zone? It’s really on them

Howie and the org are going to have his work cut out this offseason. They have to diagnose the issue and figure out the path forward. Figuring out what to do with AJ and OC, TE etc, they can’t run this back regardless of whether we win a SB. Something has to change.

I expect them to play like this is their SB, we have to match their Intensity, we did a pretty good job of that the last 2 weeks and all season except for that weird ass Giants game. I think we will be fine.

Pickens is weird player to me, he can look amazing sometimes and then like a head case other times but overall they are good at receiver and as much as I hate Dak, he has usually played well against us. I hope our front really gets after him including JC. I really want a convincing win.

This is kind of astounding considering he historically has ranked at the top or at least in the top 3 of these types of rankings. He could be cooked, injured or just disinterested, but it’s pretty crazy.

Honestly almost every team we have faced, except the Giants and the Cowboys have a top ranked defense.

The other thing I’ve learned about coaches is that they are optimistic people when it comes to watching tape. They will watch this tape of the running game and Stout will feel like if they just get their timing right or if they execute one more block or Saquon makes one guy miss it’s an explosive.

I don’t think anyone has earned the benefit of the doubt but the last two weeks are hard to judge fully, cold and wind are hard to deal with. This week if we come out and suck again against Dallas in a dome the reason/excuse isn’t going to be there.

Honestly Stout has had a ton of success with it so I can understand theoretically why he likes it,but without Jalen being the same threat in the running game,without defenses respecting our passing game and without our line having the same athleticism to read block and move in space,it’s frustrating

As much as I hate the passing offense i really hate our running game this year. Inside zone against heavy boxes. Saquon pitter pattering his feet etc. Infuriating is the right word.

I definitely think one of the problems we have in the run game is that Patullo has given total deference to Stout and Stout loves inside zone and I think a coordinator with more experience and alpha wouldn’t allow us to spam that against heavy boxes.

There inability to move away from running zone plays against loaded boxes and backers and safeties that are flying downhill is probably the thing that is the most baffling.

Yeah that’s really the difference to me. This passing game wasn’t great last year but the run game was and then they did seem to open more up in NFCCG and SB and I think it makes us all forget the rest of the season.

I don’t know, in a way I feel like the passing game looked really similar last year but we just ran it was better. Since Shane left I haven’t liked this passing game. With the running game not being there I would think that scheming the passing game more would occur to them more.
