Took a trip to the Blackstone River bikeway in Lincoln, RI today. Actually it’s in Cumberland too, depending on which side of the river you’re on.
Viggo approved.

Last night’s Waterfire lighting in PVD last night was sublime. A beautiful night surrounded by people just celebrating life. After the lighting everyone decamped to the vendor space set up near RISD. The sense of community brought all the feels 😊

Exeter, RI has the creepiest receiving tomb.

Today we visited Mercy Brown at her resting place in Exeter, RI. She died of tuberculosis in 1892 but before she was buried and thanks to a toxic combination of superstition and misogyny her body was desecrated because folks thought she was some kind of vampire.
RIP Mercy.

Stairway to adventure!
We got one little hike in on Saturday before the nor’easter arrived on Sunday and clouds emptied their water buckets.

Viggo got to wear his “I am not a pheasant!” shirt.

In the midst of a nor’easter, sunsets are somewhat, shall we say… attenuated.

So here’s several days old photo of an offshore supply ship heading south through Narragansett Bay. She’s delivering a big chunk of wind turbine to the Revolution Wind project. At sunset.
An offshore supply ship. They’re basically big, maritime, pickup trucks. The bridge and superstructure are in the bow and the rest is flatbed. The bed is loaded with components for an offshore wind turbine. The sky is ruddy behind the ship and the waters are calm.

Heads are very heavy so it’s important to have good support while relentlessly staring at humans while they’re eating.
A golden retriever (who has had his dinner already, by the way) is staring at his humans while they eat. He’s reclining on a blue This-End-Up couch with his chin on the arm of the couch. This looks uncomfortable but he does it all the time.
