I'm not linking to that NYT piece today, but of all the horrible parts of it, this was the worst. This was an explanation of "female vices" in the workplace and LET ME JUST TELL YOU...
Andrews: Gossiping. Inability to deal with conflict directly and kind of suppressing conflict. An aversion to directness, which, naturally, in a workplace, is a big problem because you need to be able to give direct feedback to people, including negative feedback.

Good morning, I am a proud 2008 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, and like many alumni, I have carried forward immense respect for the rigorous, challenging, and principled education UT gave me. That is why I was horrified to read Kevin Eltife’s remarks in The Austin-American Statesman describing UT as “honored” to be part of the Trump “funding compact” (a disturbingly sanitized way of referring to the authoritarian dismantling of academic freedom and critical inquiry). Let’s be clear: this is not a neutral funding initiative. The Trump regime’s “compact” is designed to silence scholarship that does not align with its right-wing ideology, to choke off independent academic freedom, and to undermine critical thinking. For UT leaders to call this “an honor” or to embrace it enthusiastically is nothing short of revolting. If UT accepts these funds and their conditions, the university will forever be marked as a collaborator in this attack on higher education. This is not just an abstract concern for me. I have two boys in middle school who have grown up loving UT—wearing burnt orange, attending football games, learning UT traditions, and imagining themselves as future Longhorns. I had always hoped they might follow in my footsteps. Today, after reading this news and Mr. Eltife’s reaction, I am heart broken, knowing I can no longer encourage them to attend. If UT aligns itself with this compact, my children will not apply. That is devastating for me as a parent and as an alum who has always been proud to share UT’s legacy with the next generation. I urge you to reject these funds and the toxic strings attached to them. UT’s history, reputation, and values are at stake. The university should stand on the side of free inquiry and democratic principles—not serve as a tool of authoritarianism.

I was absolutely eaten alive by Tuscan mosquitos while takiung this (apparently far more ruthless than US mosquitos, based on this experience), but the results were worth it.
