I have a Zoom book club with a friend of mine from high school and a friend of hers from college. We meet once a month at a ridiculous hour on a Friday night, because that's when we three weirdos are free.

Without a doubt, one of the best books I've read in years! The ending was so overwhelming but absolutely perfect.

I remember very viscerally the very first time I reached into a jug of tide pods I was not expecting them to be squishy and all I could think about was that Halloween game where you handle grapes with your eyes closed and someone tells you they're eyeballs.

I think this is part of why I like the Mike Flanagan shows so much (Haunting of Hill House, Fall of the House of Usher, etc). He's true to the source material while still telling a completely new story.
