Smallest tree in a number of years...but our (likely) last one in this house. His name is "tree-sus" and he has, as a surprise, RK (rapture koala) 🐨

The annual MLK convo at Brebeuf Jesuit is always a highlight. This year's reflection on the influence on art is particularly powerful. www.youtube.com/live/Sfzvc5Z...

Always good seeing alums of the speech and debate program. Kids are so excited!

What a strange experience having stomach flu over new years while travelling. Highly do not recommend. Ready to end the break, get debate tournament season under way and have a better year than the way it started.

What better way to spend the day after Christmas? "I don't have anything to work on. I'm just here for the vibes" - coach paraphrase of sincere sentiment at practice @brebeufjesuit.bsky.social #holiday #debate

interesting presentation for faculty & staff today at @brebeufjesuit.bsky.social -- 1 hr presentation started as "i "want to describe the biases" with which we are approaching the consultancy -- ended up being an entire introduction to the consultant philosophy framed around "these our are biases"

Been working on AI environment in both education and with a startup (Legislative Intelligence). I am currently fascinated with some of the built in presumptions of AI GPTs writ large. So much desire to "please" the questioner that it helps to ask questions in multiple ways to form a clearer answer

Adults at Mt. Vernon HS and the IHSAA are hiding behind bylaws, ignoring what's best for three kids who transferred to Cathedral.
The details will crush you.
The story is open.

Doyel: Mt. Vernon, Cathedral say transfers aren't for sports, so why can't the kids play?
IHSAA, Mt. Vernon are choosing which transfer bylaws to follow, and which to ignore, in the cases of three former Mt. Vernon athletes now at Cathedral

Think this might become my space for AI education thoughts and how I am working using it...

at a surface level, interesting watching the humanities wing of education confront the same issues that math did with photomath years ago. - but to think its just that is to underestimate the changing game.

keep vacillating between wanting to spend more time on here and having too many memories about the sunk cost from social media's decline :)

Seen lots of recent lamentations re: the failure of "media literacy" + "critical info literacy," and even the whole "mis/dis-info" frame, given that we're dealing w/ a wholesale epistemological collapse: evidence, truth, credibility — all 😵. Has anyone proposed promising new pedagogical framing?

At the risk of being too self referential to the platform, enjoying blue sky and re-engaging tentatively in social media after two years away. Now just have to think of some worthy content to post. In the meantime, a picture of a Michigan road

There is something surreal about sitting as the only customer in the Lincoln square pancake House and listening to the Beastie boys play over the speakers -- you do, indeed, gotta fight, for your right, to party

One of the things I have missed about classic social media is the opportunity to share the wonderful work at #brebeufjesuit and the students I get to work with. At the #nsda national tournament competing in Speech and Debate

Agenda for the day:
-- Hunting down judges for state speech (harder without an established social network with alums).
-- writing transparent AI training policies that can still be useful without being creepy (tall ask)
-- separating wheat from chaff on an e-sports room

As many of you know, my career is operations but my vocation is helping young people find their voice and leadership ability through speech and debate.

The last two weeks have been a highlight of what student leadership, peer mentoring, and hard work can do.
