In this crazy world, good to know there are some like minded folk who agree we need to challenge the injustices we see in the UK and around the world.
I don't consider disabled people to be terminally ill so they wouldn't qualify for assisted dying. Lots of people without disabilities have died from austerity and Covid. This proposed bill is for people who want to die who have a terminal illness with 6 months or less to live.

If you don't request assisted dying, you would go through the current end of life care....which I agree is currently not fit for purpose, hence people wanting a change in the law so they don't die in agony.

This is the proposed bill. Any change to it would need another vote in parliament. It would be illegal to pressurise anyone into this (15 yrs), two doctors and a judge wouldn't sign it off if the person wanted to live and lastly, the person who wants to live just wouldn't take the dose.

No, I want the choice to die pain free if I have a terminal illness. There's nothing daft about that. I've seen too many family members have unbearable days at the end of their lives. I don't want the same fate. For those who don't, don't take the lethal dose.

Now I really don't want to hear from people who post on a public forum but state they don't want any replies to their post.

I did. I'm still allowed to post my point of view.

Everyone who wants to live will live. Disability is not a terminal illness, so based on that, the current bill would not allow these people to have assisted dying, yhat would be illegal. It's very clear.

My mum is in a wheelchair with dementia, so you couldn't be more wrong about my opinions of disabled people, but hey, we're all entitled to our opinions. Have a good day Rupert, or is it night there in Melbourne?

Not at all, I didn't vote Labour. I voted Lib Dem because my mum has dementia and there is sod all care around...but turns out the majority voted Starmer, so I accept it and have to suck it up unfortunately.

This is what that rag wants. Division. I have suffered with poor mental health and my mum has dementia, but I still manage to work. You know nothing about my life, but I still wish you well because I recognise this is exactly what this rag wants. Division.
