More specifically, shame on the House of Bishops. At every step, Synod has indicated it wants to make positive progress on LLF, only for that to be delayed and frustrated by episcopal cowardice.

It makes no sense, but I suspect is down to those who are opposed to the LLF prayers being used at all feeling more able to raise supposedly legal objections to a stand alone service, on the grounds that such a service requires a higher level of synodical authorisation. But a nonsense, all the same.

I think the Observer journalists may need to do an investigation of the reality behind this "true story".

If so, I trust it will be advertised well in advance, so that it can be a Work From Home Day for colleagues who may have serious anxiety around dogs or who simply do not share the love for those furry friends.

I don't know, but it doesn't sound great practice. I would rather ensure that the wine stays gluten-free, one of the reasons why we have discouraged intinction.

It is a weird phrase, isn't it? Clearly code for something, but I don't know what. It seems especially strange when on most matters to do with gender equality and inclusion the "wider culture" is more positive and closer to the Kingdom of God than the Church is.

I do love that "the reading from Acts must be used" rubric. It always make me think, "And if I don't? What are you going to do about it? Send the liturgical police around?". So I dare you. Have Revelation and John, and then let us all know what happens.

No. No. No. Too much of our problems stem from an Archbishop of Canterbury trying to act like a mini-Pope, and seeing the Anglican Communion as equivalent to the worldwide RC Church. But if Helen Cameron would be happy to take on being ABC as well as Moderator of the Free Churches group, that's ok.

Unless you either have a very complicated financial situation, or are determined to reduce your tax payments to a minimum, I'm not convinced there's much point in using one of the clergy tax firms. That may be due to a bad experience with one when I was a curate.
