it doesn't help that the MCU and most comic book movie universes have the same problem actual comic book universes do - eight hundred different writers and an editorial that gives close to zero shits about ensuring consistency across mediums

If Democrats brush off a Nazi tattoo as an innocent mistake, they're abandoning the ability to make effective arguments against Nazis across the aisle. It'd be an unforced error that would taint the party for generations, and rightly so.
