I switched to Kagi as my default search engine ~a year ago exactly b/c Google search results are SO bad these days.

Never thought a startup would beat Google at search: Kagi does so because Google is an ads engine, not a search engine these days.

Kudos for the hard work @bsky.app and don't let billionaires take control of this. There's a big lesson there.
happy first birthday to Bluesky, and what a year it's been!

with every day, the need for an open network that puts people first becomes increasingly clear. we're glad to be building this with you. after all, the heart of a social network is the people.

"Don't be evil"

Yeah, right.
I wrote about Google unveiling its 'responsible AI progress report' by quietly deleting the part of its AI principles where it promised not to work on weapons www.platformer.news/google-ai-pr...
Google is ready to work on AI weapons now
The company’s promise to avoid building AI applications that cause harm has been deleted

I never agreed with the idea of sharing my life through internet platforms.

And this is especially because most of the platforms are owned by a company, and lately those have been used as propaganda machines.

Now, more than ever, we need publicly owned systems on the internet.

Who would have guessed that open access and open science non-profits such as @archive.org and @cos.io are useful just in case your government want to delete scientific data?

And yet, here we are.

FYI google have now stopped "-ai" working at the end of your search string.

So put this at the end (after a space) instead:

&udm=14

Fuck you #google.

We need publicly owned systems on the internet. Publicly owned alternatives. I'm not content with my only option to post my work to youtube, where I have to code my words in what is the internet's equivalent to cockney rhyming slang to not upset the machine in charge. It's absurd.
