Part of the issue is that many people are not given full time gigs from their job. They work multiple jobs for less than a "full" schedule to avoid paying benefits.

I always wanted one but figured it would look too much like an ankle monitor. Would have been better embedded in shoes. (with smaller batteries and motors these days maybe that would work!)

The only way to deal with the FAANG issue is anti trust. And to the degree that a tech company out performs the rest of the market, that's a good thing and should be incentivized. It just shouldn't be protected via monopoly status.

AGI is as incoherent a concept as general intelligence. There is no general evolutionary fitness. Only particulars. Somethings are real and not reduced to a scalar abstraction.
