El CREAF lidera dos investigaciones con estos lepidópteros que constatan que los microclimas forestales pueden aliviar los efectos del cambio climático sobre los insectos. Por ejemplo, la elección del microhábitat —más soleado o con más sombra— de la mariposa blanca verdinervada y la blanquita de la col para poner huevos determina su supervivencia frente a las olas de calor.
