None of the OC question accounts I follow asked anything that fits today and I said my next post would be art so heres some images of races/creatures that tend to appear in my comics. I'm reusing these pics a lot bc my energys going into my W.I.P

A comics convention I'm applying for announced they want LGBT creators and stuff like that always gives me the weirdest kind of imposter syndrome. Alvin is really doing a lot of heavy lifting bc I think the queerness in my stuff is otherwise kind of diffuse and hard to "point at"

Forty three Dr. Schalman: OK, OK, when you say you keep thinking about it what do you mean by that? Hayden: I-I mean-I, most of the time, I'm, y'know, I'm fine Dr. Schalman: and other times? Hayden: (sigh) Well sometimes when we're on the bus or in a hotel and I'm the only one who can't get to sleep and I'll just be laying there in the dark and I, I, it's not like my mind is racing it's not an anxiety thing like that I just...I'll start thinking about how I only know about like...I don't know anything about how...about what's going one with him but what he posts online and he doesn't, like, he wasn't around for what we did what I did, except for stuff that gets posted. Me and the guys on the podcast are friends, me and Andre go way back, but otherwise my work and my normal life stay separate, Dr. Schalman: but that's not what you want this time? Hayden: I, uh, I just sort of wish he was part of the scene I'm in and lived out where I live and that we had known each other a young guys coming up, or even had been buddies in school, or that he had been one of my siblings, my twin, and we had been born and gone through life together. Jesus fucking Christ what the Hell is wrong with me? Forty five Dr. Schalman: Do you think there's something wrong with how you feel? Hayden: If somebody said that to me I'd want an electric fence between us. Dr. Schalman: OK, are you in contact with this man? Hayden: No...not yet anyway, I've got the tour as an excuse not to right now. Dr. Schalman: You seem relieved. Hayden: It's...I'm just...it's just weird right now Dr. Schalman: Alright, we're running low on time so I'm going to recommend that you pay attention to how you're feeling about the people in your life when you notice yourself ruminating about this. Hayden: OK, yeah, alright. Dr. Schalman: and you can schedule another session to discuss that ..and I'll see you then OK? Hayden: Yeah, oK see'ya. I have two ideas that don't fit the setting I've built for my comics. One I think I could tweak to work. Maybe for the other I should do something where one or more of my OCs act as host in a framing device or its a story-within-a-story, IDK.

All of Alvin's storylines so far are him trying to stop some sort coming conflict or new weapon.
The Hags are, in theory, involved in asymmetric cold war against the rest of humanity, but mostly they just rob gas stations and party with cryptids.

Dr. Schalman: is that something you normally do? Hayden: I talk to fans all the time and I remind the crowd to follow at shows. Dr. Schalman: Do you usually approach them though, and do you usually follow back? Hayden: No...and I don't know why I wanted to do that so bad. Dr. Schalman: What else was going on around that time? A character from a vision or dream in my W.I.P changed clothing in a way that may or may not have involved physical transformation, like liquid assuming the shape of its container, they chose to go back to being someone dressed for the weather.

Comic page. Doctor Wode continues to dream of the necklace changing hands in reverse to a Amazigh merchant, to a man in a toga and seashell crown, to a dark figure in shadow. A being with a mask like winged face and three or more visible wings hands a round jewel to a character wearing a simple mantilla and a tight full body covering resembling an anime girl or 90's Batman cartoon femme with two dark holes through which two white circle eyes can be seen. Inside a stone or mud brick thatch roof house the character turns to a man huddled between an older and younger woman and says "give back my coat" The man replies "fine" and tells the older woman "it's in the chest go get it". The older woman turns to the fourth wall and says "I guess you think that's pretty funny "doctor", but are you it's daughter...or ours?" as the Hag gang/cult's characteristic face tattoos appear on her face

The chupacabras are monomorphic, they don't notice

The bigfoots are dimorphic but also don't notice bc their sexes are otherwise indistinct like moles or spiny rats

If the Hags do sex testing its something really gonzo and arbitrary, but there's no Alien 3 trope going on

Then Adam wakes up in chapter four and snakes don't talk and his family worships "the Lord" and they are not the only people in the world. So Adam's dream turned into a nightmare because he brought his own fears and worries into it, as people do. Theres a panel of a classic Sistine Chapel Jehovah placing a little clay Adam into a playset like walled Garden of Eden, and another of Adam as a wholly caveman in a loincloth waking with a fright next to Eve under a full moon.

Some characters have dogs. The bigfoots keep black, grizzly, or polar bears as pets. Chewie preys on farm animals, being a chupacabra and all. Normal woodland animals like deer, possum, and snakes play a big role in Candle Jar, and of course there's the owl in my W.I.P. #<3OCWorld #WorldBuilding

There's human ones, English being the only one I've been confident enough to write in so far, Alvin et al text in obscure alphabets but it's still English. The bigfoots have their own language.

We don't know what sex any of them are, they all look the same including thd little chin beard. I just think implied human diversity balances out some of the genderless crytids and spirits in this comic. So while people are talking about the associations of Germanic symbols I'm just going to post these three Anglo rune alphabets here. Two are fictional, the first are "Hobbit runes" and the other is Cirth both of these are from JRR Tolkien who fought on the right side of WWII #Runes #Futhorc #Tolkien

Chupacabras. They're primates who hange convergent evolved with vampire bat's and kangaroo rats. They sometimes understand what people say like Lassie. They wear found clothing and understand simple sums of money. Bigfoots. The adult females are like six to nine feet tall, the males are nine to fifteen, on average. They're proportunately very strong even for their large size. They live in neighborhoods with modt families consisting of a male and one or more females and their children, the males gave been known to sneak off and party with Hags. Their language is translated as emojis and punctuation. The Ghouls are a loose knit subculture of cannibals with a quasi racialized identity based on folklore about having unusually high percentages of DNA from a ghost hominid ancestors who preyed on other subspecies of humans. They often have unusual eyes and some of the men have big toungues, they have metal caps put on their teeth as a sort of initiation. The Hags are an all girl dirt bike gang with a Lovecraftian eldritch goddess cult attached, the more religious ones also revere boogeywomen like Bloody Mary or La Llorona as saints. That involves a shared culture and a sort of fictive kinship with legendary pre-prehistoric matriarchs so it's almost ethnic in a way. They all wear those same togas shirts, giant belts, dark pants, doc martin boots and have peircings, scars, and tiger stripe tattoos.
