Politics and culture with a bit of technology. I know a good bit about two of those things, and imma get real weird about it.
I will continue saying it until I completely lose my mind -

They don't know that they're the BAD GUYS. And that's a criminally under - analyzed part of our stupid, stupid discourse.

#cork gets it.

While this is... nice, it's a symptom of a larger problem - it doesn't address the civilian complaint about student loan forgiveness at all.

"If you take out a loan, you pay it back"

Is stupid, but legion among regular people when confronted with this issue.

It's... almost like the average person has NO IDEA how "the economy" actually works, but they think it's BAD, and they just mindlessly blame whoever's President.

It's a big riddle wrapped in an enigma how one could make the economy "good", but we've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas!

These are the stupidest fucking people on the planet and it gets more embarrassing every day that @democrats.org struggle in ANY election anywhere against them.
April 10, 2025 at 2:27 PM
Narrator: Yeah, that's me. I guess you're wondering how I ended up here. Me too.

You see, I responded to one of the seventy billion Democratic fundraising Emails and wouldn't you know it, I ended up here.

And I regret every decision I've ever made up to this point.

I do not - for the life of me - understand how normal people use the actual internet anymore. This is a snippet from the brilliant humans at @pajiba.bsky.social and I've circled the content in red.

This seems... unsustainable.

Frankly, I'm just enjoying the most sinister, subversive Anti - Trump satire I've seen in the last 10 years.

D'Onofrio is doing an absolutely brutal hit job -

Gods but I hate this fucking question.

HOW!? Why do they keep asking it? And how do Democrats not have a better goddamn answer for this? Does anyone remember Republicans being asked this during the Obama / Biden years?

And the borders aren't "stronger", Bernie. GODDAMMIT. Do better.
March 25, 2025 at 9:26 PM
I want to like Cory Booker.

And I get that attacking Democrats takes heat off of the BIG problem.

And there IS a maternal health crisis

And we should do something about that.

But a fundraising Email like this at 2pm on Tuesday does not meet the fucking moment, @booker.senate.gov.

Hey @duolingoverde.bsky.social, you guys okay? Because this nightmare fuel just winked at me and I'm not okay.
March 7, 2025 at 11:59 PM
We're just going to continue this endless cycle of bullshit until we recognize that Trump having a painting of Reagan on the wall is entirely appropriate and a little on the nose.
March 7, 2025 at 3:30 PM
These people just come off as deeply unwell. Just deranged and in need of help.
March 7, 2025 at 1:04 AM
Facebook completely flooding my feed with Republican Party pages, military pages backing Trump, fascists, and Republican politicians smiling while taking bribes from big corporations. I don't follow any of these. None seem to disappear when hidden.

The site is essentially unusable.

Whenever I'm being a ______

My wife reaches for a ______

Give it a second. This took two weeks to write.

I'm so very proud of it.

Quite frankly, the constitution has been entirely optional for decades now. I'm less concerned with the OUTRAGE of that aspect of this than I am with the basic statutory authority of this claim.

Laws. Lawyers. Why the fuck did we bother with them at all, anyway?
March 4, 2025 at 5:08 PM
This is of course, true. But it got me thinking - is there a single person that uses "DEI" as a slur thinks of it in this way at all? There's an asymmetry here that's pretty important.

Because the DEI that exists in its haters' imagination isn't what the series of policies IS at all.
March 3, 2025 at 8:15 PM
They're terrified of this, but would never admit it.
February 27, 2025 at 2:56 PM
I'll slowly creep in - congress doesn't have the power to do "x", the news media loses access to "y". It'll be little tweaks to things like don't seem like much on their own, but collectively, they'll add up.

The @motherjones.com editorials will be absolute 🔥, though.

We have to figure out a way to make THIS into a political point. Because we know that a lot of people feel this on a deep, elemental level, but we dare not speak it's name because...

Shh...

Socialism.
February 20, 2025 at 7:25 PM
With unlimited funds, I'd be finding a way to pay a bunch of these guys' salaries. Keep them afloat so that we don't lose their impossibly valuable institutional wisdom. Keep a shadow government ready to go when we demand all of these basic services back.

Funny how no billionaires are doing that.
February 19, 2025 at 4:04 PM
I don't think it's conspiratorial to claim that Musk is truly, really in charge of things as the moment given two pretty public pieces of evidence.

Dispatch from the "free" state of #Florida - a 30 minute traffic light.

I asked before, and I'll ask again - where have the Democratic leaders emeritus been the last few weeks?

There are dozens upon dozens of them. They may not be the most popular figures in the world, but the general public is familiar with them and - mostly - respect them.
