Ok, the post-vax slam seems to be waning. And I am now tempered steel against those viral bastards.

I did one quick sketch to see if I could (which… eh), and now I’m tired. I didn’t start my day until 3pm, and slept on and off until 2pm, but a 10pm bedtime is still ok, right?

A new Rhenna attempt and the Meret I had forgotten to photograph from before. With heavy photo editing to save me from nasty left-handed skew.

Rhenna, a status mage, is readying to drop an electric stun on a victim. She is wearing a cowl neck dress with a bow around the waist and has wavy thick hair clipped back, which flares out in a fan shape around her shoulders. I have four versions of this sketch edited, all resulting in slightly different proportions and anatomy with her. My brain melted trying to figure out which was best. I have no idea what this looks like anymore. A quick blue lead sketch of young Meret from Momentum. This teen is an anthro Siamese cat in this version. She is wearing a plaid shirt and slacks, and has long braids draped down her front, with two loose strands of hair on her right side. Her left arm is raised up as she’s scratching her head in concern.

Been struggling with migraines, and I either forgot it was Aimovig refill time or I should accept the flexibility of mental forgiveness with blue lead is countered by how brittle it became as it aged.

All I’ve “finished” is this 2/3 of a Meret and a Rhenna I forgot to photograph. (We’ll see.)
Meret, the Siamese cat teen in the Precociousverse version of my in-my-head test project Momentum. I really, really gotta redo her outfit, as the practical version that’d make sense for her is a hell of tangents unless her long braids are blowing perfectly in the wind. Oh well! (Yes, you can laugh at how all my character designs are instantly defeated when the characters - who are walking across a continent and back MOSTLY ON FOOT - are drawn carrying their standard luggage accessories! This is why Momentum isn’t a *real* story!)

I got one ok-ish Rhenna sketch done despite my low-light bedroom sketch spot, but everything else has been extra sketchy and simple cuz I can’t tell if the line even went down right! (I have since reinstalled the desk light, but still don’t have the settings right yet! Nooo…)

So… loose sketch page!
A sketch of Rhenna, a character from my not-actually-a-story story, Momentum, drawn with green lead, in low light that made it hard to see what exactly I was doing. Rhenna is an anthro red fox, but desaturated if she’s been in color, with thick wavy hair, in this format. Her standard cowl neck dress has a different collar here. Very errant lines were drawn and I tried incorporating them! It’s a joke with me that all my plans are just trying to draw characters sitting down, but with all limbs visible enough they don’t look like an amputee. (I jokingly call my ref folder “furry porn,” and it’s seriously 99% clothed characters sitting! Got ya, phone snoops! I’m a strip cartoonist whose horizontal format meant I’m now VERY insecure about drawing legs - especially if I’m supposed to anthro them. Gross.) It does not always result in the most organic pose! Various loose sketches of Rhenna. I couldn’t see enough for details, so I drew fast and gave up! There’s something (or many things) terribly wrong with all sketches, but with enough on the page you can kinda average them out and figure out what she’s supposed to look like when not ruined by my hand.

I’m never satisfied with my Rhennas, cuz I’ve got a weird mental block going on, but I figured I owed a quick and dirty attempt at least.

Now I’m breaking for lunch, so it could be hours before the resulting pain breaks and lets me try sketching again! Whoops!
My character Rhenna from my in-my-head idea testing grounds project, Momentum, in one of the cowl dresses I had shared as refs for her standard outfit. She’s supposed to be a standard vixen type - a red fox anthro, but a genetic quirk that happens in the Momentum universe with magic uses has her fur as shades of gray - but I spent 15 years where my anthro stuff was for all-ages comics featuring children! I can’t draw sexy foxes! It feels like a crime to me! (Not that Rhenna minds. She’s a “doesn’t give a crap” jerk, and definitely not a flirt. It’s all intimidation tactics with her.)

A drawing of my character Natalia from my testing ground story, Momentum. This is a test of her outfit design and how some carry overs from her human look don’t work in this anthro fluffy kitty form. Hooded robes on animal heads just don’t work well, and robe line/shape also causes issues with her pendant and her medicine bag. Hmm.
