Ah, yes. Because paying out benefits is the emergency, not oppression and state violence toward those living in poverty in the "greatest country." 🤡🍊
The Trump administration has asked a federal appeals court for an emergency block on a judge’s order that it fully pay 42 million Americans' SNAP benefits for November.

Yesterday, we made history. Around 7 MILLION people across the United States stood up to say #NoKings, with allies around the world in countries like Japan, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia joining us in solidarity.

BUT OUR FIGHT IS NOT OVER.

As Big Brother as it gets. Not shocked to see UVA given Unite the Right and their most recent President resigning under pressure. Texas seems flattered, but UT Austin would have a fit. Hopefully the rest tell him to fuck off, but this grift might win over spineless jellyfish in 2 states.

As if they were doing anything useful before the shutdown. My loans are between Biden and God at this point.
How the government shutdown will affect student loans, FAFSA and the Education Department
The government shutdown means further disruption for the U.S. Education Department, which has seen half of its employees laid off by the Republican Trump administration.

Dear @apnews.com

The republicans control congress. Democrats did not vote down anything. If the GOP wanted to fund the government, they could have changed the rules to pass a CR with a simple majority like they did 11 days ago to approve 48 trump appointees at once.

Fix your headline.

The murder of Charlie Kirk was criminal, wrong, and should be condemned.

And Charlie Kirk was a horrible, hateful man who spent his life radicalizing young people to embrace their worst demons by targeting women, people of color, immigrants, and the marginalized.

I refuse to sanitize him.

THIS and every post in the thread.

Hope we can decry political violence, feel for his family, AND also see that this man is a sad senseless casualty of the barbaric society he promoted with every breath.
It’s fine to say that violence is never the answer, but I can’t help but observe that for Charlie Kirk violence was always the answer, and it was the only answer he offered, and, because of the privilege that he refused to admit he had, he could enact it from a comfortable and respectable place.
