had the weirdest outage with Google Fiber where traffic was only routable to Google-owned IPs, e.g., YouTube was fine but Netflix/Hulu was not. A glimpse into the future I guess.

only *one* art crime reporter in US? thought rich folk cared about not acquiring nazi loot… ahh, never mind.
My opening for a comedic talk would be "Hi, my name is Karen Ho, a name ruined by white people twice. For nearly three years, I was the only full-time art crime reporter in America. I know why so many museums are haunted and which paintings were seized from Leonardo DiCaprio by the US government."

the future is wonderful where you have extensive questioning for any injury to maximally subrogate any claims

I’m so old that I remember a time when the NYT would send out push notifications about a president’s mental acuity.

Rusty Foster has thin skin — this got me blocked and I didn’t even mention “Rustina”
the first time he fucked off to the Maine woods was in 2002 after community fundraising $35k for kuro5hin, promising to form a non profit, and then never followed through

Orin Kerr is what happens when elite legal brain meets engineer’s disease.
This is an excellent example of what it looks like when a legal analyst is incapable of adjusting their worldview to the realities of the current moment.

One nice thing about Burning Man is that it removes the more insufferable part of the population from San Francisco for over a week. Parking is abundant and the vibes are pristine.

troubleshooting through shitty logs and weird ass errors. Looking through my own profile is enough evidence of that.

But the imply that Windows is free of any weird time sucks is equally as disingenuous.

Linux just makes it a lot less...hostile to tinkering. It is better about respecting choices

Counterpoint: law is nothing but calvinball now. If you go to an elite law school it’ll be hard as fuck to flunk out. If you don’t, follow this advice I guess.

Whatever, nothing matters so just find someone with your professor’s outline and learn how to compose a basic IRAC essay.
This.

Also, expect your reading speed to drop dramatically and plan homework and preparation time accordingly. I went from 30-45 pages an hour of technical nonfiction to 8-10. It'll get better, but it takes time.

And do--DO--plan out blocks of time for homework and class prep.
If you're a 1L starting law school in coming weeks, just remember: You're *supposed to* feel a bit confused at first. It's normal. Law is like a language. You learn it best through immersion. You'll take a few weeks to get to speed.

This may help, too:

Five years ago I switched from UniFi to TP-Link access points and haven’t been disappointed. My EAP-660HD still gets firmware updates and serves without issue — unlike the U6 Lite it replaced.

I’m using Exos X16 drives, shucked from external Seagate Expansion enclosures, in my main zpool for the past five years. They’re working great! But time is a harsh mistress and I wanted to look at upgrading to higher capacity platters before I hit the wrong side of the bathtub curve…
