You know how when you are going through Some Stuff you examine everything for hidden meanings and significations from the universe? Today I saw a production of Hair, and the actors mingled before the show and handed flowers to the audience. I can’t remember the last time someone gave me a flower. 😭

The total crapshoot of trying to find a liturgical church on WAZE because it doesn’t know that “St” “St.” and “Saint” are interchangeable and there is no pattern to which one might be in the database.

Having friends just hang-out until the impending panic attack went away. That was cool.

Has anyone made an “ICE Raid protocol” for your church yet? I’m going to broach this subject with my priest, and I’m wondering what best practices might look like. If a van comes and tries to cart off one of my fellow parishioners, I’m liable to act a fool if there’s no plan beforehand.

Episcopalians are wild because they're a christian denomination that somehow seems to not have total contempt for the teachings of Christ

One of my favorite things about sketching in public places is the genuine surprise in people’s voices when you answer the “what are you doing?” question. “Painting” has fallen out of the mental menu of public activities and it’s fun to expand people’s horizons a bit.

Ok. Y’all have had enough time with Wicked to learn to love Stephen Schwartz music. Now check out Children of Eden and prepare for serious emotional wreckage.

I did what I’ve been putting off for 3 years, and started a conversation with my dad about my failed marriage. Getting ready to make some progress in 2025.

Today’s sermon about the “wrath of God”: it feels like God’s anger but it’s really salvation from something deadly got me thinking about my divorce, like….hmmmm… that tracks.

Ah, the time of Professorial Payback is nigh. Now I have to grade all of those rigorous assignments I encouraged my students to put their time and energy into.

There will be a day in December when I don’t work three different jobs. But it was not this day.

I played the Burt Bacharach theme song to The Blob for my kids as part of a Halloween playlist and now I catch them singing it to each other at random moments. I’ve either created quirky cool kids or very very uncool kids.

My threads feed: Mayor Pete needs a new gig!
My Bluesky feed: Who will they pick as the next ABC??
Now, hear me out, everybody. What if we could solve one problem with another?
