We find that across both US (CPS) and Europe (ESS), people from more individualistic cultures are much more likely to work from home — even within the same city and occupation.

🧩 Correlation or causation?

To isolate the influence of individualism from institutional and economic confounders, we compare immigrants living in the same labor markets but coming from different cultural backgrounds.
