Bye Bye WaPo. Love your columnists, but this is not the paper I subscribed to.

The oligarchs and spineless Republicans are all bending the knee to the dictator.

So much for principle.

For a quick sugar high to “own the libs,” the attempts to shutter USAID would do long term damage that couldn’t be reversed for a generation. My latest:

The Traveling Wilbury's:

"In Jersey anything is legal, as long as you don't get caught."

Donald Trump:

"He who saves his Country does not violate any law."

What he means, by "saving," of course, is from people of color and anyone who doesn't agree with him.

Trump Suggests No Laws Are Broken if He’s ‘Saving His Country’
President Trump shared a quotation on social media, making it clear it was one he wanted people to absorb: “He who saves his Country does not violate any Law.”

Best part of the Super Bowl? Trump predicted a Kansas City win. Still waiting for him to declare the game was rigged.

The Democrats, my party, are the worst marketers in history. Gutless too. Always being played by Trump and the Republicans. So many great accomplishments over the past four years that no one knows about. And so many lies and accusations that don't receive the responses they deserve.
The Biden administration presided over a triumphant decline in drug overdose deaths. Did voters knew that? Why not? "He who does not toot his own horn, his horn shall not be tooted."

When I first heard about the tragic plane crash I immediately thought, joking to myself, that Trump will blame the Democrats.

He did!

It's well over 10 years and counting, but how long can he count on the blame game to work?

This an ugly way to begin the four-year process whereby Americans relearn that the US government a) does all kinds of things they need but don't even know about, b) well, despite c) being chronically understaffed.
➡️ January 20: FAA director fired
➡️ January 21: Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen
➡️ January 22: Aviation Safety Advisory Committee disbanded
➡️ January 28: Buyout/retirement demand sent to existing employees
➡️ January 29: First American mid-air collision in 16 years

The unchecked MAGA nightmare is upon us. As tedious and seemingly ineffectual as it seems, we must continue to call out each and every cruel, bigoted, short-sighted actions. And there are so many!

Those who say "I don't want to think about politics," are not doing themselves any favors.

Great podcast from @adamgrant.bsky.social with Icelandic President Halla Tómasdóttir.

In addition to her insights on imposter syndrome & the dangers of negativity, she expounds on the value of listening. "Politicians love to talk. They should love to listen."

What impact do you have on the world?

An old saying goes, “Whoever saves a single life is considered to have saved an entire world.”
