Theoretical neutrino and astroparticle physicist Brookhaven Lab. He/him. Partnered. Thoughts my own.
And they've been running for a decade so we should see statistical noise at this significance sometimes, and when it happens it may well look wonky like this one.

Still, I'll be curious to see the PBH papers and see if the numbers work out plausibly.

Also remember that this is the median age of first time homebuyers, not the median age people stop renting. That is, many people never stop renting their whole lives.

TLDR: The physics behind NANOGrav's signal may also appear in supernova which can be identified with the neutrino data from a future galactic supernova.

If such a phase transition happened then, it will (most likely) also happen in core-collapse supernova! This will leave a host of imprints on the neutrino signal from the supernova which we work out thanks largely to Anna's work, especially her recent PRL on new physics in supernova.

NANOGrav and others have seen a gravitational wave-like signal that may well be coming from a novel phase transition in the early Universe at a temperature of 10s of MeV. There are a lot of details here, but they actually don't matter!

Can you translate this to plain English?
