Turned my 8’ x 16’ veggie garden over w a shovel & covered w 4 bags of cow manure compost. It will rake out with a heavy rake in March ready to plant.
We had some kale still producing, my wife transplanted some to a couple big pots. Curious how long it will keep producing. It likes cold!

Our sedum started blooming 2-3 days ago. Today it was swarming with pollinators: honeybees, several species of bumblebees, wasps, flies, butterflies, moths. I’m going to try to capture a vision video tomorrow.

Every summer we seem to get a male & female Eastern Tiger
Swallowtail pair frequenting our butterfly bushes. The male this year is the biggest I have ever seen.
In addition to pollinating insects, the bushes also attract hummingbirds.

The 335 I had the bigsby put on. I forget where I got the “Custom Made” piece of plastic to cover the old bridge holes.

OMG, at least 7 serving left of my eggplant kale casserole. 😱
Meanwhile, I think I preferred the chicken marsala to the veal marsala. The marsala sauce is such a strong flavor, I think the weaker flavor of the chicken works better than the stronger flavor of the veal.

A nice cilantro bouquet on my table. I made ceviche 4 nights ago, only needed 1/2 bunch of cilantro. I picked out the longer stems, trimmed the bottoms, placed them in a glass with water. Planning on using them with some fish tacos in a couple of days.

Limpkins. I've counted up to 6 in our 1 sq mile community, 30 lakes/retention ponds, 170 acres. Naples FL.
It is mating season & they are SO LOUD! If you are old enough to remember (racist) Tarzan movies, the jungle bird sounds were generally recordings of limpkins.

Hey, help? I took this 12/11. I IDed it as ring-necked ducks. The female on the right looks OK, but the 2 males? I can find no pic of any duck-like bird with those large white face patches. ??? We get ring-necked migrating in around this time of year, also hooded merganser & lesser scaup.

2 Egyptian geese strolling down 1 of our walking trails.
I was blocking them, they calmly went around me, within 5', no hissing. I wonder if they were someone's pets? But, I've seen them on the wing. Beautiful #birds .
