This is such an important point, I make it in nearly every talk I give!
The majority of people —56% in the US!—are worried about climate change, but not activated.

Why not? Most feel helpless, hopeless, and don't know what to do. So more fear won't activate them. Rather, knowing what to do—and being invited to do it—will.

Where to start? With a conversation today. 🧵
Activate climate’s ‘silent majority’ to supercharge action, experts say
Making concerned people aware their views are far from alone could unlock the change so urgently needed

My thoughts on how companies can navigate a rapidly changing policy context for #sustainablebusiness in the US and Europe.
The new US administration has been in office for 30 days, and changes have come fast and furious, many of them relating to sustainable business. BSR President and CEO Aron Cramer discusses issues raised with member companies and shares key strategies for navigating a time of uncertainty and change.

How do we get people to care about and act on climate?
Don't call it climate!
Talk about their health, their bills, their risk, their community, their kids future. Talk about what they care about, in their local community. Take the winning elements of populism -> #ClimatePopulism
@carolinelucas.bsky.social and @rupertread.bsky.social are a powerful combination. They have teamd up here to make the case that those who want to see action and climate can and must learn from populism (but without needing any of its rampant deceit).

Great thread on a really interesting report this. There's a worrying emissions gap, but it's also kind of encouraging that based on current trends the UK is on track to meet the initial targets of 80% emissions cuts by 2050 and clean power by 2035. The goals are affordable and within reach.
🧵 Britain is poised to fall short on key climate and energy goals because the switch to offshore wind power, electric cars and heat pumps is too sluggish, experts have said.

A report by the risk management consultancy DNV found the UK will only reach 88% clean power by 2030, not 95% as planned.
