Late summer, Margate. On the porch, with two very good dogs (not shown), a cup of frosé (testing out a new recipe), the torches going, and The Beach Boys for ambient sound. Good God, I do love this life.

One would have expected two Labs to have been more enthusiastic about going swimming on a hot summer day. On the other hand, they are awfully lazy…

So maybe Baloo is more food-motivated than I first thought. A can of Pringles fell out of the car, the contents spilling everywhere, mostly under the car. I’ve never seen a dog move faster.

I’ve spent years trying to coax some of the flora from home into growing properly in The Garden State. My dogwood is doing quite well, but I can’t for the life of me get the azaleas to to adapt, even though the neighbors have yards full of them. Sigh.
